About

Competitive freediver
I am an elite pool freediver based in Stockholm. I compete in pool freediving in the four disciplines static apnea (STA), Dynamic No-Fins (DNF), Dynamic Bifins (DYNB) and Dynamic (DYN). My goal is to explore the edges of my own physiological capacities and to spend time in my favorite element. Check out my competition results here.

Why do I freedive?
One dream that has been reoccuring my whole life is the ability to fly, by swimming in the air. As a child my dream was to become an astronaut in order to experience weightlessness. With that in the back of my mind, I am not surprised that I ended up becoming a freediver.
But freediving has become much more to me than to move around in three dimensions. It is not an adrenaline sport, it is an extreme sport. You push your physiology to extremes, and experience much higher levels of CO2 and lower levels of O2 in your body than you will ever do in your day to day living. This causes a range of reactions in the body that remains unknown to most people. With a big curiosity and a motivation to understand how the world works, this journey of discovering is an important reason to why I freedive.

Freediving is a very photogenic sport, and I love to express my creativity underwater both behind and in front of the camera. Lastly, I love the freediving community. It is a kind and welcoming space for all people who enjoy spending time in the water. And that is good, because the number one rule in freediving is "never freedive alone".

The female perspective
An important topic for me is to increase awareness among females how the monthly fluctuations of hormones affect us diffetently compared to males. This is true in many areas of life, and not the least in freediving. I have been tracking my cycle in detail since 2019, and have loads of personal insights of how training and especially breathholding is affected by the status of our hormones.
